Today, we received notification of the BH Redesign 501 training dates and locations, as well as registration links.

Also, the Benefit and Services Work group met yesterday. Slides are located here. They did release the crosswalk for new services and that document is located here.

My recommendation is IF you are a Medicaid type of 84 (MH), 95 (SUD), or 954 (New SUD Residential), you sign up and attend. Make sure all billing and lead clinical staff attend as well as anyone involved in the registration process for the agency or providers.

Locations, dates and more information are listed below in the release.

*** Fundamentals of Behavioral Health Redesign 501 Training’s

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) will implement Behavioral Health (BH) Redesign on Jan. 1, 2018, on a fee-for-service basis for all Medicaid enrollees other than MyCare Ohio members, who will receive their redesign benefit package by their MyCare Ohio plan. The traditional Medicaid managed care plans will begin covering the behavioral health redesign benefit package for their members on July 1, 2018, when “carve-in” takes place.

Over the past two years, ODM and OhioMHAS have provided numerous community and webinar training opportunities where BH redesign policies and technical aspects and specification have been shared and reviewed.  The most recent comprehensive training was the “BH 401” webinar that was hosted on May 22, 2017 and was recorded and posted to the bh.medicaid.ohio.gov website.

In collaboration with the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Association (OACBHA), ODM and OhioMHAS will be providing a final series of “BH 501” trainings throughout Ohio to assist OhioMHAS certified providers of community behavioral health services with the most up to date information to make the successful timeline transitions.

Examples of topics of interest are: prior authorization (PA), including PA transitions, policy clarifications related to practitioner enrollment, contracting with managed care plans, testing, and a high level overview of the OhioMHAS certification process to successfully transition on January 1, 2018.

The training’s will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The cost to attend the training is $40, which includes morning beverage service, and a boxed lunch with soda/water; conference materials, opportunities to ask questions during the training and CEUs/RCHs.

Visit the OACBHA BH Redesign 501 Webpage for more information and to register.

In addition, I want to re-post a summary we posted recently which provides an overview of the entire BH Redesign process to date. And I do want to state that as of today, although testing begins 10/25/2017, we have not received the actual service test dates from Medicaid. As soon as we receive, I will pass along.
